Tabular Alumina is created by taking ball-shaped calcined alumina and heating it to just below the 2040°C fusion point of aluminium oxide. When done correctly, nearly all of the crystals will change while still remaining hard and dense with a high level of chemical purity. Not only can it withstand high temperatures, but it is also resistant to both chemicals and abrasion.
