Tabular Alumina is created by taking ball-shaped calcined alumina and heating it to just below the 2040°C fusion point of aluminium oxide. When done correctly, nearly all of the crystals will change while still remaining hard and dense with a high level of chemical purity. Not only can it withstand high temperatures, but it is also resistant to both chemicals and abrasion.

Application

Tabular alumina is used in the production of high-quality refractories, which are used in industrial furnaces. High-alumina refractories are utilized in metal and glass manufacturing by means of boilers, huge furnaces and kilns for smelting metals, and firing glass, pottery, and porcelain. They're also utilized in the construction industry to make building bricks.
