Fused Mullite is created by combining high purity Bayer Alumina and pure Quartz in a tilting type arc furnace, where it is heated to approximately 2000 degrees Celsius. By cooling the molten mass at a controlled rate, we are able to produce mullitization with well-defined columnar crystals.
