Micro silica, also known as fumed silica, is a fine powder composed of silicon dioxide. It is an ultrafine powder collected as a by-product during the production of the silicon and ferrosilicon alloys. The resulting product is a highly inert, absorbent, and white-coloured powder. Microsilica, also known as silica fume, is an admixture commonly used in concrete due to its ability to improve engineering properties.
